We were told that Cruz's passport would be ready in ten days so we planned to return to the U.S. Embassy Friday afternoon to pick it up. Instead of my normal school schedule of 2-4, I studied from 1:30-3:30 so we could head into Guatemala City. We checked the Embassy's website to see the business hours first. It said Monday- Friday 8-5. We arrived around 4:30 AND THEY WERE CLOSED. How aggravating! So instead we went out to eat (Friday's of course), bought groceries, and returned home. We'll try to pick it up another day.
Cruz slept until 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning. I fed him and we both went back to sleep. I slept until 8:00 and he slept until 8:30. It was very nice and the longest I have slept in since before he was born. I am usually up and going by 6:00/ 6:30 a.m. everyday. We spent the rest of the morning being lazy and then headed back into Guatemala City after lunch. We went to greet the Kent's who were arriving from language school in Costa Rica. They will be serving here in Guatemala with the Thomas' among the Pokomchi'. I forgot to take their photo.
Sunday was church and then a lazy afternoon of napping and watching t.v. Here's a short video of our sweet little boy. He sure makes our weekends (and everyday) a lot more enjoyable!
He looks so happy. Enjoy this time. It flies by way too fast! ;-D
