On Monday, June 7, Cruz had his first visit to see Dr. Asturias, his pediatrician. He was 12 days old. He wore the outfit I had planned on him wearing home from the hospital and looked really cute in it!
The appointment went well. The doctor said he looks great and appears to be very healthy. He got his first shot and did not like it at all! We will go back when he is two months old. Here's some photos from the day- Daddy and Cruz waiting on the elevator
He slept through all of the waiting which made us be a lot more relaxed.
In the waiting room we met another couple that had a newborn. We found out that she was born the same day as Cruz. She weighed 5 lbs. 2 ozs. She looked TINY next to Cruz. I wish I had taken a photo of them. Her mother said my baby looked to be at least a month old. getting weighed
He weighed 8 lbs. 5 ozs. Only one ounce less than at birth.

After the appointment we headed back to the hospital where he was born. We needed to pick up some paperwork to apply for his birth certificate and eventually his passport. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get him out or not but decided to give it a try. After the way he left the hospital the last time (see yesterday's post) I was afraid he might cause another scene. Instead, he was angelic! The nurses that cared for us were very happy to see him and he acted very sweet for them. He made us proud!
On the way home we saw signs advertising KFC. We followed them and sure enough we found one in Guatemala City. That made us happy! We didn't eat there then, but plan to return on a future trip into the City.
He seems to be doing so good. Regina you look GREAT! ...and David You seem a little proud of that baby boy! Words can not express how happy I am for the three of you. Love ya!
