March 2010 Newsletter

Greetings from Memphis , TN. We spent the month of February wrapping up most of our speaking engagements. We traveled to Dothan , AL and spoke at two churches there. We shared with a WMU group in Thomasville , AL . We also spoke at New Providence Baptist Church in our home association. All of these were encouraging times for us. We had a few baby showers and received many great things for the baby. We also named the baby in February- Cruz David White. We will call him Cruz. We received a phone call on the 9th telling us that we had been unanimously approved by the IMB trustees to be career missionaries. What a great day that was!

That brings us to the month of March. We are currently in Memphis attending appointment week and will have our appointment service on Wednesday, March 3, at 6:30 p.m., at Belleview Baptist Church . We are thrilled and honored to be given this opportunity! We will return home later this week and will begin packing up all of our belongings to return to Guatemala . We have tickets to return on Wednesday, March 24. I will be 30 weeks pregnant the day we fly back. Once we return, we will spend a while brushing up on our Spanish in the town of Antigua . We plan to live with a Guatemalan family again during this time. We have a lot to get done before we leave. We covet your prayers for patience, wisdom, and a spirit of peace. Pray for us as we say goodbye to friends and family and prepare to go. It is not going to be easy, but the Lord will be our strength.

Many of you have been our prayer supporters from day one. A lot of you have come along side us during the journey and prayed for us. The greatest thing you can do for us in the weeks and months ahead are to commit to pray for us. We can never have too many prayers and prayer will be the foundation of our ministry. Please join us as we embark on this new term by covering us in your prayers. We need it and appreciate it more than words can say. Until next time……

Your “soon to be full time” Missionaries to Guatemala

PRAYER PRAISES:
1) to be getting appointed and to be returning to Guatemala
2) traveling safety last month
3) making contacts with churches and raising prayer support
4) that the pregnancy is progressing well

PRAYER REQUESTS:
1) for the appointment service on March 3
2) safety of travel as we drive home to Mississippi on March 4
3) we will be sharing with a group of students at Mid-America seminary on Thursday morning, March 4
4) for meaningful good byes to our friends and families
5) for our return trip to Guatemala on Wednesday, March 24
6) for a smooth readjustment once we return
7) We will have one more doctor’s visit and sonogram on March 17. Pray that we get another great report.
