So, today we say Bienvenidos to our visitors! Welcome to "Greetings from Guatemala". ReplyDeleteHappy SITSday!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning - I am running late for work so I need to be brief. I don't always check the featured blog SITS but was compelled to do so for some reason. God leads us in unexpected ways sometimes :) You see, my father was a SBC minister for almost 50 years preaching the first 15 years in KY where I was born and raised. Then he and my mother, thru the Home Mission Board, moved the family to NW Ohio to a small mission church where he became pastor and later started the Eastland Baptist Church in Bryan OH where I still live. We had a girl from our church who was a foreign missionary to Africa for several years. I will add your family and your work to my prayer list and share with my church friends. God bless you and care for you throughout the remainder of your pregnancy!! Love in Christ, Cathy
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day and congratulations on your soon to be baby boy! What an exciting time in your lives. Good luck with the rest of your mission, it sounds like it's been very rewarding!!

ReplyDeleteWill be visiting again! :)
Hi, Regina and David,
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'll be honest -- when I first read on SITS about another expectant blogger, I thought; 'Well, I'll just say congrats and move on.' Being the Mom of two grown kids (with no grandchildren yet--nor likely for a while, but I look forward to it) I guess I'm out of the whole 'Mommy loop' thing and the 'Mommy blogs' don't much interest me, although I can appreciate their appeal for other young Moms and wish I had something like that when I was raising kids.
But how refreshing to read about these two adults who have not only been married for a while and seen the world, but are out there HELPING the world.
Having a brother and sister-in-law who have spent time in Guatemala doing the exact same thing you are (they also adopted two children from there) -- I then found myself actually looking forward to reading your blog.
So, it is with sincereity (sp?) that I wish you heartfelt congratulations on being today's featured blogger and first time parents. Enjoy the ride--it's a good one!
Peace and serenity,
~Jo

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a very exciting time in both your lives. I lived in Africa when my children were young and now that they are barely 20 they still remember the social connections we had there. Your child is blessed by having the opportunity of being part of your lives. He will experience all the goodness, the fun and the excitement of living overseas while at the same time growing up knowing his parents are good citizens of the world. God Bless!
