We had a great Valentine's day. We spent the majority of the day being lazy around the house. Saturday night we went out to eat at the restaurant next door to where we live- Casa de Acuna. We had a great meal there and the best part was that we didn't have to drive to get it.
Sunday morning we attended services at the K'ekchi' church in town, Belen. We would consider this church to be our home church on the mission field. We attend there when we aren't scheduled to be anywhere else. We know several of the people who attend there, and it's like worshiping with friends and family. We also enjoy going there for a few other reasons. 1.) We don't have to give greetings. We can just sit, relax, and be a part of the service like everyone else. It's refreshing to be in the service and not "be" the service. 2.) They don't feed us (unless it's a special occasion). We never mind eating and actually enjoy it, but it's nice to go sometimes and not have to be wondering what you are going to eat when it's over. ha 3.) The church is just around the block from where we live. We can leave at five til and WALK to church. We don't have to get in the car and spend several hours on the road. Our work normally requires us to travel on Sunday's, but it's very refreshing to be close to home every now and then.
We are spending the day getting packed and ready for another road trip tomorrow. We will be heading back into Guatemala City early in the morning. We hope you had a great Valentine's weekend as well.
