Today we visited Semuc Champey. It is a popular tourist place 2 hours from Coban. There are several water falls and natural pools to swim and play in. We took a picnic lunch and had a fun time hanging out and enjoying the water.
A highlight of our day was jumping off the cliffs into the water.
There were several K'ekchi' children hanging around the park entrance that we all enjoyed playing with.
We left the park with plenty of time to return home before dark. After about 20 minutes into the trip we encountered this bus that had rolled backwards down the mountain and crashed. We literally sat and waited for 3 hours for them to clear the road and let everyone pass. We had a devotion this morning on the fruits of the spirit. We joked that we were really learning patience and self-control as we watched and waited for the workers to let us go. Although it was late, we returned home safe and sound. Overall, it was a pretty cool day.
