January 2018 Newsletter

We had a wonderful holiday season.  It was great to be home this year to enjoy it with our family and friends. We attended several Christmas programs and church cantatas.  That was a special treat this year.  We made a lot of wonderful memories.

We enjoyed getting to promote the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in person this year.  Thank you to all who have given!  Your gifts will help families like ours impact lostness all over the world.  Because you give, we can go!

A highlight from the past month was getting to enjoy a snow day.  One of the things the boys asked us most about coming to the States was if they were going to get to see snow.  We were beginning to think it might not happen but we were surprised with a winter wonderland in early December.  It was so much fun and getting to watch them experience it was a blessing.

Our time in the States is quickly coming to an end.   We are scheduled to return to Guatemala this month.  We are waiting to get final medical clearance for me (Regina) so that we can go back.   I have a follow-up appointment this week and depending on good results we could be returning as early as next week.  If not, we could get delayed a few more weeks.  Pray for us during these last days here as we begin to pack, say our good-byes, and fly back to Guatemala.  Pray also for our families who will be very sad to see us go.

It has been an amazing Stateside Assignment!  We have seen and done so much over the past six months.  We have traveled to many places and visited with many wonderful people.  We have enjoyed being in so many different churches and getting to share our stories with them.  Thank you to each one who has hosted us and loved on us while we have been home.  You have made our time here so special.

As we look ahead to our return pray for us to get settled back in quickly.  Pray that it will be an easy adjustment and transition for all of us especially for the boys.  Pray for me as I juggle all the aspects of leaving and getting settled back in all while trying to keep up with our school schedule (we started our second semester this week). Pray that we would find the ministry in a healthy state and that we would be able to jump right back in where we left off.

We are excited about our upcoming term and looking forward with anticipation to seeing how the Lord is going to use us over the next few years.  Pray that we would be found faithful to our call and that our lives would bring God glory in all that we say and do.
