Greetings from Guatemala!
The year is off to a great start. We had a busy month of Bible
studies, home visits, and homeschool. We were able to do eight Bible
studies during the month and in addition to that attended four local
Spanish worship services. We also got to attend an English speaking
worship service in Guatemala City. That was a treat.
There
has been a lot of sickness in our area lately. Many are experiencing
fever and flu like systems. Everywhere we go people are sick especially
up in the mountains where we work. Would you pray for those who are
affected? Most do not have access to medical care and medication that
could help ease basic symptoms.
We
hosted a volunteer team from First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant,
SC. We spent the week making home visits, encouraging local pastors,
leading Bible study, and praying over the needs of many along the way.
During the week the team was able to visit in Chiquimula, El Palmar
(near Zacapa), Chanco, Corral de Piedras, Salitron, Jocotan, La
Libertad, Nearar, and Muyurco. It was a great week and the team helped
us to build relationships with the locals in each area they visited.
Thank you for praying for our week.
Homeschool
is going great. We are having a fun time learning together. Pray for
me that I would teach them well. Pray that I would have the right
amount of patience, love, and endurance to help them learn and stay on
track. In addition to school Cruz returned to piano lessons last week
when his music school reopened after the holidays. He is doing well and
seems to really be enjoying it.
We
thank you for praying for all aspects of our lives and ministry. What a
blessing it is to know that we have an army of prayer warriors lifting
us up back home. It really does encourage us and keep us going. Thank
you for praying!
