October 2016 Newsletter

Greetings from Guatemala!  We just finished up a wonderful week of hosting a volunteer team from LifePark Church in Mt Pleasant, SC.  They covered a lot of territory throughout the week sharing their testimonies and Bible stories with many along the way.  They visited two churches in Chiquimula to pray for them and encourage the pastors.  They did the same for a new mission church in Zacapa.  They spent three days on the mountain making visits in the villages of Lagunetas, Churischan, Chanco, La Libertad, and Nearar.  They visited a Christian school in Jocotan to pray for and encourage the director.  Lastly, they helped lead our weekly Thursday afternoon Bible study in the village of Muyurco.  They worked really hard and did an excellent job of sharing their faith.  We love when the teams come.  They are always a great encouragement to our family and a big help to our ministry.  Pray that God would water the seeds that were planted in the hearts of the people by them this week.

In addition to hosting our team we led eight Bible studies over the past month and also took a Sunday to attend Bro. Elias's church in Chiquimula.  Would you continue to pray for each of our weekly Bible study times?  We meet in Nearar on Sunday, Muyurco on Thursday, and Lagunetas every other Saturday.  Pray also for new Bible studies to begin in the other villages that we are targeting.

Our homeschool year is going great.  The boys are learning a lot and having a fun time doing it.  Thank you for praying for our school time.  Continue to pray for me as I teach them each day.

October marks our ten year anniversary with the IMB.  It seems like only yesterday we were just getting started and now we look back with awe as we see all the ways that God has worked over the past ten years.  He has definitely been faithful to us every step of the way.  I have claimed the verse 1 Thessalonians 5:24 many times "The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it."  We may never know until we get to Heaven what impact we have had here but we know that God has used us for His glory.  Pray that we would continually give our lives each day to be a vessel that He can use.  We look forward to many more years to serve Him and make a difference for Christ in this world.
