Greetings from Guatemala!
We began the month of August by celebrating David's birthday. We spent
the day swimming in Esquipulas and enjoying some fun in the sun. It
was a combined celebration of his birthday and our last blast of the
summer before starting back to school. Two days later we began our new
homeschool year. Most of my time last month was spent getting us back
into our school routine. It takes a lot of my time to prep and teach
but I really do love it! We just finished our fourth week of lessons
and so far it is going well. The boys are having such a good time and
thankfully think learning is fun. Thank you for praying for our school
year. We really appreciate it.
We
continued with our weekly Bible studies. We had three in Nearar, two
in Muyurco, and two in Porto Suelo. One of the times in Porto Suelo was
a baby dedication service for a newborn who is the daughter of our
leader there. It was a sweet service. Bro. Elias, from the Baptist
church in Chiquimula, went with us and led the service. We are thankful
when we are able to partner with him.
We
attended the closing celebration for the Bible classes at the school in
Tunuco Arriba. The Lubecks did a great program for the kids. The
classes are scheduled to begin again next January.
Continue
to pray for us on our Bible study days. In September we will be in
Nearar on Sunday mornings, Muyurco/ Porto Suelo on Thursday afternoons,
and Lagunetas every other Saturday morning.
Our
next team arrives on the 25th. It will be a group from LifePark Church
in Mt. Pleasant, SC. We are looking forward to a great week together
and ask you to join us in praying God's blessings over our week.
It
is a blessing to be able to serve the Lord here. We cannot think of
anything else we would rather be doing with our lives. Pray for us as
we share the gospel and help make disciples for Christ here in Eastern
Guatemala.
