November 2014 Newsletter

Greetings from Guatemala! As we prepare our hearts for the season of Thanksgiving we know without a doubt that we have much to be thankful for.  We are thankful for our family and the way the Lord allows us to be on mission together.  It is a great blessing!  We are thankful for good health and able bodies to be able to travel out to remote areas to share Christ.

We are thankful for the ongoing Bible studies we are able to lead in the villages of Lagunetas and Nearar.  We were able to teach twice in both of those villages during the month of October.  We hosted a volunteer team that did door to door visitation/ evangelism in many homes in the village of Chanco.  We are thankful for the plan of salvation that was shared with many there.  We were also part of a food distribution project last month in the village of Tunuco Arriba.  In addition to each family receiving food they also had seeds of the Gospel planted in their hearts through the sharing of God’s Word.  A fifth village we want to begin a Bible study in is Churischan.  We are just in the beginning stages of getting into that area and ask you to pray for us as we visit there and try to form relationships with those who live in that village.  These are the five villages that we are currently targeting and ask you to please lift each of these up to the Lord in prayer.

We are thankful for our sending organization, the IMB, and the thousands of Southern Baptists who give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering each year that allows us to be on the mission field and tell others about Christ.  If you have ever given to that offering we say THANK YOU!  Every dollar counts and every dollar goes to support Southern Baptist missions around the world.  Would you give this year?  Here's a link to show you how you can help.  We depend on it.   Our colleagues depend on it.  Many who are feeling the call to go depend on it. May we be a face to your gifts this year knowing that you have a part in all we do because you give.

And, most importantly, if you are reading this it is because you are a prayer partner of ours.  We just cannot say enough how thankful we are for the role that you play in our ministry through prayer.  It is a powerful tool that we do not take lightly and base everything we do around it.  Prayer changes lives and we are trusting the Lord to answer your prayers for the salvation of those He has called us to serve.  Together, through much prayer and service, we will see God move.  Are you believing that?  We are, so keep praying!
