May 2014 Newsletter

Greetings from Mississippi!  Our time here in the States is definitely on the downhill slide as we now have less than two months before our return to Guatemala.  We are starting to shift our thoughts to the idea of that and I am already making mental notes of all that I need to get done before we go back.  We'll be forced to do a little early packing as we move this month from the mission house we have been living in to a house closer to our immediate family.  We'll spend those last few weeks there near them.  That will help us see what all we have, what we want to take back, and what we need to store or get rid of.  Would you pray for this move we'll be making mid-month?

April was a full month for us.  We had the opportunity to be at eleven different churches with speaking engagements in seven of those.  What an incredible blessing it has been to be in so many different churches over the last several months and sharing our story with them.  We are so grateful for the way our boys just go from church to church week after week and the new people and places don't seem to faze them.  They are troopers and are learning early to adjust and be flexible.   Also in April we celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary, Ben's 2nd birthday, and the 90th birthday of David's grandmother.  It's all been fun!

Cruz will finish up his time in preschool this month.  He has had the most fun getting to be a part of that.  It has been a wonderful opportunity for him and I know he will miss it.  Can you believe he will turn 4 years old this month???  Where has the time gone?   He will also finish up his tee ball season this month.  That is another thing we are glad he was able to participate in.

It's not too early to start praying for our transition back to the mission field.   Every time I think about it, it makes my heart a little sad.  This will be the first time we return with our kids and I am certain it will be the hardest thing we have ever had to do.  But, we know without a doubt that God has called us to go so we'll do it.  We'll also be trusting His grace to cover us and a spirit of peace to rest over us.  Would you begin wrapping us in prayers as well?  Pray also for our families as they release us to go back and continue the work we are called to do.
