Cruz's 3rd Birthday Morning

We had been doing a daily countdown to Cruz's birthday.  By the time it arrived he was more than excited!  He went right to bed the night before knowing that when he woke up the next morning it would be like Christmas.  I love adding that "Christmas morning excitement" to their birthdays.  As soon as he was asleep I got busy decorating and putting out his presents.

A photo of what he would see when he came out of his room on his birthday morning.

Sound asleep on his 3rd birthday eve.

Waking up and coming out of his room on his birthday.  He was up at 5:15 a.m.  He had been waking up about that same time for the past week or so.

Happy Birthday, Cruz!

Checking out his gifts.  He got an art easel with dry erase markers, an eraser, and chalk.  He got a Little People race car garage set.  He got a wheelbarrow (a gift from Wendall and Jane Parker).  He got a couple garden tools to go with his wheelbarrow.  He got a tool box filled with real tools.  He got several books, coloring books, and a lap size dry erase board and markers.  He got a rolling pin for his playdoh.  He got an echo microphone that both boys love.  Yes, he got a lot, but hey, it's not everyday you turn 3. ha ha

Checking out his new tools.

He went right to drawing on his chalkboard.

I made banana pancakes for breakfast.  I made Cruz's in the shape of a number 3.  I decorated it with whipped cream, raisins, and mini marshmallows.  He loved it!

After breakfast both boys got to open birthday gifts from my mom and Mrs. Ann.  They brought them many fun things!

The rest of the morning was spent playing with his gifts.  We ate taco soup for lunch and then it was nap time.  His birthday party was later that afternoon.   It was a fun morning celebrating our "most of the time" fun little boy.  More fun and excitement was yet to come!
