May 2011 Newsletter

Greetings from Guatemala! We just wrapped up a week long missions conference for indigenous leaders from all over Central America. It was a blessed week, and we pray that many have caught the vision to take the gospel beyond their people group. Please continue to pray for the men and women who received that challenge last week. We know first hand how scary it is to leave your home, family, and heart language to go somewhere else and share the gospel. Pray that God would show many that with His help, they can do it too.

We visited five K'ekchi' villages in April. Three of those were for anniversary services, one was to stand up a new pastor (in La Libertad), and one was an unreached village where a few families have recently believed. Pray for this village, Escarbado 2, that the Lord would save many more there and that the current believers would not get discouraged because they are few in numbers.

Please pray for an overnight trip we have to the town of Poptun this weekend, May 7-8. We will be attending two services while there- Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Please be in prayer for K'ekchi' pastor, Bro. Pablo, and his family from the village of Quetzalito. We visited there this past Sunday. His eight month old baby daughter passed away on Monday. You can read about it on the blog post below. They will be having a burial for her on Tuesday morning.

The most exciting thing we have coming up in May is the one year birthday of Cruz. Can you believe he will be one year old? I am in full birthday party planning mode and can't wait for the celebration to begin! What a year it has been! It would bring us a lot of smiles this way for him to receive birthday cards from many of you. If you would like to mail him a card please send it to: Apartado 1135, Guatemala City, Guatemala 01901. I will be keeping them for his baby book. It will cost a little extra postage and take a little longer to get delivered, but would make us all feel loved.

We appreciate your taking the time to read our updates and pray for us. Your prayer support is such a vital part of our ministry. THANK YOU! Until next time...

Sending our love,
David, Regina, and Cruz
