Greetings from Guatemala! It's been another great month for us. We are having a ball being parents to Cruz and learning all about taking care of him. So far he is a pretty happy baby and has fit into our lives very easily.
We are still in language school and it is going well. We took an oral test in July to see where we are and what we need to focus on these last few weeks and we are getting close to the level that the mission board would like us to be at before we finish. That was great news! Please continue to pray for our language study.
We were busy during the month of July with paperwork. We have been trying to get Cruz's Guatemalan birth certificate. We received it several weeks ago but they had his name incorrect. Here in Latin America they us both the mother and father's last names on paperwork. Because we only listed one last name, the computer automatically put two names for him meaning that his birth certificate says- Cruz David White White. We are trying to get it changed to say either Cruz David White or Cruz David White Miller. That is not an easy thing to do here!!! We are also working on getting our permanent residence visa's and have made several trips into Guatemala City to work on that. We are getting very close and that's exciting. We have another appointment this Tuesday and this should be one of our last. We also have an appointment on Tuesday to apply for Cruz's American passport. We are anxious to get that so that we can plan a vacation trip home for him to meet our families.
Cruz had his two month check-up last week and is doing very well. He now weighs 13 lbs. an 14 ozs. He is a healthy, growing boy. That is a blessing to us!
We are all doing well, taking life a day at a time, and trying to enjoy each one. We know it's because so many of you are lifting us up in prayer regularly that we are doing so well. Your prayers mean so very much to us and we can't thank you enough for supporting us in that way. Thank You! Until next time...
Sending our love,
David, Regina, and Cruz
