Christmas Day

Since we had such a late night we slept in this morning. It was nice. We then ate a big "Southern" breakfast, read the Christmas story, and got ready for the day. We were invited to Gaylen and Phillis Groff's house for lunch. They are missionaries with the K'ekchi' and they live in Carcha (about 15 minutes away). There were 14 of us who gathered there for lunch. We sang, shared some Christmas memories, ate, and played games. We had a traditional American meal of turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole, corn pudding, and more. It was delicious.

They have 6 young adults from the States who just arrived and will be here working with them until July. We enjoyed meeting them and getting to know them. We hope to get with them again sometime soon.

We are now back home and resting. We will be leaving early tomorrow morning heading 3 hours north to the town of Sayaxche'. We will be there overnight attending a K'ekchi' pastor's conference. Please pray for our travels on Friday and Saturday. Merry Christmas!
