Our Sunday Scouting Outing

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12
Our next team comes in this coming Saturday, the 9th. It will be a medical team from Gadsden, Alabama. Yesterday we went to scout out the village where this team will hold their clinic. The village has 75 families living in it, but there is only one family of believers there- a husband, his wife, and their daughter. Our prayer is that this clinic will be used to soften the hearts of the people and that many more will believe as a result of God's love shown to them through us.

We had a service in the home of the believers yesterday morning. We were happy that the 4 village leaders (all non-believers) came and sat in on our service. What a great opportunity to present the gospel to them.

This is the house where we had our Sunday Service. We sang (without instruments), had a Bible study, and shared words of encouragement to the family. It was a very simple service, but at the same time very sweet.

The family built this wooden podium and they use it in their services. This is one of the K'ekchi' missionaries, Bro. Miguel Chub. The clinic will be held in the area he serves. Pray for him as he prepares to lead us next week.

We then hiked to the school building where we will have the clinic and we prayed over it.

Discussing where we will put everything- the doctors, the pharmacy, the eyeglasses, etc.

There are soo many decisions to make before the team arrives. Pray for us as we finish final preparations and make last minute arrangements for them.

No Sunday would be complete without a hike, haha.

David on the trail.

We ate lunch with the family before returning to Coban. It was great day. The village was very warm and welcoming to us. We look forward to returning next weekend and spending a few days there with them.
