More on the Arkansas Mission House

-for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations. Isaiah 56:7

We mention often the Arkansas Mission House. We thought it would be nice to post a few photos and show you a little of it. In the past it was a missionary residence. Several years ago Guatemala had a partnership with the Arkansas Baptist Convention. They sent a group (or several groups) down to remodel the house and add on additional sleeping quarters to use as a misson house for teams and missionary families to stay while in the city. It has been a blessing to us to have this place to stay not only as a get away while we were in language school but also now when we travel into the city. This is the back of the property. This part was built by the Arkansas Baptists. The bottom is two apartments. One is for missionaries and the other is the living quarters of the house caretakers. The upstairs has several individual rooms where the teams sleep.

The main house. This room was added on later as well. This is the hangout room for the teams and families. It is big and roomy. It is also a great place for team meetings and devotions.

There is a large kitchen that everyone shares.

This is where many of us spend a good deal of time. This is the "office" area where we all use the internet (when it's working). When there are several families here at the same time this place can get pretty crowded.

There is a living room that has a tv in it. This is where we like to hang out most. One of the things we like about being at the mission house (other than getting to take a bath) is getting to watch English news. We have a television and cable in our apartment at home but we do not get any English news channels. Here we can watch Fox, CNN, CBS, Headline News and others from time to time. Although there is usually not anything on worth watching, it's just good to keep up with what is going on in the world.

This is the library that is stocked with a lot of books for adults and children.
