Enjoying just being at home

Then spake Jesus unto them, saying, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life". John 8:12
Today has been one of those "don't do more than you have to days". It has been nice. We both met with our tutors this morning and that has been the biggest thing we have done all day.

I have done a good bit of cooking and even baked some cookies, but that is relaxing to me. I enjoy being in the kitchen. We travel so often so when we are home I like to fix our meals, and usually enjoy doing it.

We ran a few errands for our upcoming team. One of our stops was to a local coffee farm where we buy water bottle holders for our teams. We learned the hard way a few months ago by not having them for every team when we had a team from our home church that did a good bit of hiking. Ever since then, we have made sure we provide them for all team members. Our next team will be hiking everyday in and out of the village where the clinic will be held.

While there we were able to practice a little of our K'ekchi'. The workers could not believe that we are from the states and are here learning their language. One of the workers knew a little English. He wanted to practice with us. He had us write down a few phrases for him. It always makes us wonder what we sound like to them when we hear them trying to speak our language to us. We can only imagine.

  1. Yeah, it would have been nice to have one of those on that 40 mile hike.
