June 2018 Newsletter

May was a great month filled with many opportunities to share God's Word.  We had fifteen Bible studies and attended three other services.  We are thankful for all of the opportunities that we have had to pour into others over the past month.  Thank you for praying for all of our weekly Bible study times.

Some of the precious children I get to teach each week.

We plan to continue with the same schedule during the month of June but will have to tweak it some while our upcoming teams are here.  We are excited to have our first teams of this term coming down this month.  We will host two during the month of June.  We will host our first Mississippi team since moving to this part of Guatemala.  That has us very excited.  We are also looking forward to hosting another team from our partner church in Mt. Pleasant, SC.  It will be our first time to see them again since getting to visit with them while in the States last fall.  We are counting down the days.

Pray for fruitful weeks while we have these volunteers here with us.  Pray for them to share boldly and help us advance the gospel in our work area.  The dates that they will be with us are June 8-14 and June 24-30.

A highlight for the month of May was having six new believers follow the Lord in baptism.  Four of them were from the village of Nearar and two were from Porto Suelo.  Pray for each of these as they continue to be discipled and grow in their faith.

Another highlight from May was getting to do special Mother's Day services in the villages of Nearar and Muyurco.  It was a sweet time with the ladies and I look forward to more opportunities to love on them and encourage them in the future.

In addition to ministry, we have had a lot to celebrate in our family life as well.  Cruz turned eight, Ben graduated kindergarten, and we finished up another great school year.  Thank you to those who faithfully pray for our school time.  We are looking forward to the summer break and plan to start back around August 6.

We thank you for your support through prayer and we ask you to continue to lift us up in the weeks ahead.  Knowing that you all are praying for us encourages us greatly and keeps us focused on the task of sharing the gospel.  You have a part in all we do because you pray.  Thank you!
