Snow Day 2017

The boys started asking me months before we left Guatemala if they were going to see snow while we were in the States.  Of course I could not guarantee it so I would just answer with a maybe.  We only have a few weeks left in the States and I was beginning to think it might not happen.  During our recent trip to Virginia Cruz just knew he was going to see snow there.  When it didn't snow he was very sad.  We flew home on a Saturday and he decided that night that he was just going to start praying about it.  And he did.  The following Friday he woke up to this-

When he looked outside he screamed and said "God has answered my prayers!"  It was precious and brought tears to my eyes.

I had watched the weather reports and knew that it was a good chance that snow would fall but I didn't tell the boys just in case it didn't happen.  They were both very excited to see it and eager to go outside and play.

We spent much of the day outside.  We would bring them inside just long enough to rest, eat, and dry their clothes in the dryer.  Then they were off again.  Here are some photos from our day-

Hooray it's snowing!!!

Several people commented on facebook asking us if this was the boys first time to see snow.  It wasn't.  It snowed back in January 2014 during our last Stateside Assignment.  The boys were 1 and 3.

What a great day we had!

Sometimes the simplest things in life can bring you the most pleasure.  I am thankful for a day of snow.  I am thankful too for an opportunity for Cruz to grow his faith in God.
