A Family Reunion, Some Singing, Santa, and Sharing

Saturday was the annual Miller Family Reunion.  We have not been home to attend it since 2013.  It was good to see family members that we have not seen in a long time.  We enjoyed a great meal and fellowship time there.

That afternoon we drove to Jackson to attend Carols by Candlelight at First Baptist Church.  We have been watching the live stream of it the past few years while in Guatemala but it was so much better in person.  I was glad we got to go see it this year.

My friend Malinda sings in the choir there.  We enjoyed a few minutes of visiting with her, Reagan, and Sara Madalin after the program was over.

On our drive back home we made a stop in Crystal Springs to see the light display at Lake Chautauqua Park.  As usual it was very pretty but an added treat was that Santa was in the visitors center to take photos with the kids that night.  We surprised the boys with a stop there.

December 2013
They have changed a little since the last time they were in the States for Christmas.

When asked what he wanted for Christmas Ben replied "Nothing.  I have enough of stuff already."  It made me smile.

He did much better this time.  His first experience visiting Santa did not start out so well. Poor baby.  He was not a big fan.

On Sunday morning we shared at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhaven.  Afterwards we were treated to lunch by a precious couple who attend there.  We enjoyed getting to catch up with them again.

Our last visit with the Harts back in January 2014

That evening we were at Central Baptist in Brookhaven.  They were having their children's choir Christmas musical.  We enjoyed the singing and the food fellowship afterwards.   That church has become our home base during this Stateside Assignment and we are going to miss them when we are gone.

It was a great weekend filled with family and friends.  We are thankful for the memories that were made.
