Greetings from Guatemala!
We are fresh off a weekend retreat where we gathered with other
missionaries that are serving in Guatemala. We had a great time of
worship, fellowship, rest, and refreshment while there. It is an
annual conference and something that our family looks forward to
attending each year. The boys attended VBS classes for their age groups
and had a blast. There were 92 families that attended. There were 162
adults and 89 MK's. We also had 55 volunteers who came down from the
States to lead and serve us. We had a great time and we returned home
refreshed and ready to get back to work.
After
many months of praying, planning, and saving the construction project
has begun in the village of Nearar. The group broke ground this past
weekend. Pray that it all goes well. Pray specifically for Rafael who
is leading and in charge of it all.
Our
Bible study group in Muyurco has decided to do some evangelistic
outreach in their area. They planned three revivals over the next three
months. The first one took place this past weekend in the village of
Porto Suelo. They had a good turnout for each service. In addition to
the services they also had a time of baptism for three new believers.
Praise the Lord!
In
the month of March they plan to hold a revival in the village of Nenoja
and in their own village of Muyurco in April. Nenoja is about an hour
hike up the mountain from Nearar. It is not easy to get to! The Nearar
group has been making Saturday visits there trying to start a Bible
study. Be praying for the upcoming evangelistic outreach in that
village. Pray for new believers in all of our work area and for our
Bible study group members as they strive to share their faith with those
around them.
We
are honored yet humbled for the role that we get to play in sharing the
Gospel here in Eastern Guatemala. Pray for us to do the job well.
Pray for wisdom and discernment as we lead others and disciple them.
Pray that God would be glorified in all areas of our lives and
ministry.
