February 2016 Newsletter

Greetings from Guatemala!  Our year is off to a great start.  During the month of January we were able to do ten Bible studies in three different villages.  We had four studies in Nearar, four in Muyurco, and two in the village of Lagunetas.  God is blessing our Bible study times and we ask for your continued prayer support as we prepare and teach each week.

We hosted our first team of the year and had a great week working with them.  The team was from one of our partner churches- First Baptist Church Mt. Pleasant, SC.  We spent two days making door to door visits in the village of Chanco.  The team was able to pray with many sick people, share their testimonies, and share Bible stories.  The team also took family photos that we will have printed.  We plan to return in the next week or so to pass them out. That will give us another opportunity to be in the village and make visits. We were also given permission to share with the school children during their morning break time.  In addition to sharing Bible stories the team played games with the kids and loved on them.  We were received well and feel that progress was made in that village.  We spent one day in the village of Corral de Piedras doing the same thing.  Our last ministry day was spent encouraging a group of believers in the village of La Libertad.  The same day the team joined us for our weekly afternoon Bible study in the village of Muyurco.  It is always an encouraging time for our group there and they love when the teams come and share with them.  Thank you for praying for our time with this team!

During the month of February we will continue our weekly Bible study times as well as make some visits in other villages that we are targeting.  We will host our next partner church mid-month.  They are from LifePark Church in Mt Pleasant, SC.  During their visit we will be specifically targeting the villages of Lagunetas, Churischan, and Tarshaja.  We will also be spending one day doing leadership training at the Baptist church in Chiquimula that we attend from time to time.  The team will be here working alongside us Feb. 14- 20.  Would you be praying for our week?  Pray specifically for the lostness in these three villages and that God would change the hearts of the people who live there.

We are looking forward to attending a conference later this month with other missionaries who serve in Guatemala from all organizations.  It is a yearly conference and is always a great time of networking, fellowship, and fun.  The boys are especially excited about spending some time with other MK's their age.

We are always encouraged to hear from you all and to know that you are praying for us.  What a blessing it is to have such a large army of prayer warriors back home lifting us up in prayer.  We are grateful for you and the part you play in our lives and ministry.  Thank you!
