April 2015 Newsletter

Greetings from Guatemala!  March has been one of the busiest months we have had in a long time.  In addition to making visits in the villages of Lagunetas, Chanco, and Churischan we held two Bible studies in Lagunetas, three in Nearar, three in Muyurco, and two in Tunuco Arriba.  We are thankful for the many opportunities we had to share God's Word last month.

We hosted an IMB media team who came to write a story on the Ag work in Honduras and our partnership with it.  We spent a few days with them doing interviews, taking photos and videos.  We took them to the village of Lagunetas to show them some of the agriculture projects the students have done.  They were able to interview several of the students and the family that hosts us in their home for Bible study.  We look forward to seeing the finished promotional work they produce with the footage with they took while here.

I (Regina) spent a week in Lima, Peru attending a Homeschool Conference with other IMB families that serve in Central and South America.  I had a wonderful week and gained a lot of valuable information that I know will help me when I begin to homeschool Cruz K5 in the fall.  I am thankful to Southern Baptists who provide resources like this for us.  I feel certain that there was not a mother there who did not leave feeling encouraged, inspired, and better equipped to educate their children on the mission field.

We are currently in the middle of hosting a youth volunteer team.  The group is a combination of youth and leaders from First Baptist Church and LifePark Church both in Mount Pleasant, SC.  We are spending the week in the village of Chanco doing door to door visitation, sports ministry, and VBS.  So far our week is going great.  The team arrived on Sunday and will be in Guatemala until Saturday.  Would you pray that we would finish strong in sharing the Gospel in that village this week?

We will continue doing our Bible studies during the month of April.  We have several opportunities to teach this month and we are excited about that.  Please pray for our current Bible studies and for new opportunities to share in other areas.  There are still several villages in this part of Guatemala that we would love to get in to.  Join us in praying that God would lead us there and provide persons of peace to open their homes to us to begin teaching His Word.

In addition to celebrating Easter we will also be celebrating the 3rd birthday of our precious Benjamin on the 16th and our 19th wedding anniversary on the 27th.  We look forward to these happy times this month and celebrating them together as a family.

Thank you for praying for us!  Thank you for encouraging us!  Thank you for giving so that we could do the work that God has called us to do.  All of those are very important to us and we appreciate your role in each.
