New Year's Eve

It has been our tradition here to spend New Year's Eve in Flores, Guatemala.  We love seeing the fireworks being shot around the lake, plus it's just a pretty place to spend the day.
Before we left for the trip we moved Cruz up to his full size car seat.  I can't believe he has already out grown his infant carrier.  I am going to miss that chair!
He looks so small in it.  He really liked it!

Since our infant carrier and stroller was a set, we also had to move him up to his new stroller.  He loved it too.
We checked in and then went to lunch.
While we were eating, Cruz chewed on his first tortilla.
That was definitely a Kodak moment, ha.

The weather was very warm here over the weekend so after lunch David and Cruz went for a swim in the pool.
A few early sunset views
There were many people swimming in the lake as well.

Cruz before supper.
We ate at Capitan Tortuga's (another tradition).
This was the sunset view from our outside table

After eating we spent a long time walking around the island and strolling Cruz.  He enjoyed being out and seeing all the people moving around.  He likes facing forward in his new stroller so he can see all that is going on.  The weather was perfect to be outdoors!
We stopped by a coffee shop and got coffee and dessert before returning to our room.

Cruz was asleep before the fireworks began, but quickly woke up when the noise started.  We all watched the fireworks together from the balcony.  He really enjoys the fireworks. I think he gets that from his Mama.
We also watched the ball drop in NYC, and the other celebrations that took place around the States.  That is something I always like to do on New Year's.  It was a fun evening together welcoming in the new year.  We can't wait until next year to do it again.
