We're Not Crazy, We're Called

I have joked several times that I was going to name our ministry that. Some struggle to understand what we do and why we do it.  Many have asked-
~why would you want to live outside of the States
~why would you leave your family
~why are you having your baby in Guatemala
~why would you want to raise your baby in Guatemala and not in the States
~why can't you just serve here in the States
~why, why, why.....  I could go on and on

The only answer we can give is that God called us to go.  It's not that we just want to do any of these things, it's that we have a calling that we must answer.  Yes, we could choose to stay in the States but we would be disobedient to that calling.  It's a calling that we do not take lightly.  We are honored to go and serve!  What better way to spend your life than trying to make a difference in the life of someone else.  How else will they hear and how else will they know unless us and others go and tell them the good news of Jesus Christ.  We love what we do, it is our passion.  Is it going to be easy, NO.  Will we struggle and have hard times, YES.  But, the Lord will see us through it all, the good and the bad.

As you watch the video below, look into the faces of those shown.  These are real people.  People that need the Lord.  People that we are called to tell.  People whom God has given us a heart for.  People whom we will share our life with.

  2. This was so encouraging to read! We are realizing the call that God has placed on our lives to minister in another country. I know we will hear those same questions, and it is good to hear from someone who is so committed to being obedient to God. Praying for His blessings on you and your family :)

  3. It is completely worth it, but you're right, its equally as hard. Some people really just don't understand. But as I watched that video, I saw our adopted son in every face, and all I could think was if we hadn't adopted him and had the privilege of teaching him about Jesus, how awesome it would be to know there were people like you there to tell him!! Thanks for responding to your call to go!!
