September 2009 Newsletter

Greetings from Guatemala! Time is flying by and it is hard to believe that in about 8 short weeks we will be returning to the States. We are looking forward to seeing many of you while we are there!

We started off the month of August by celebrating David's birthday. He even had early morning fireworks- a Guatemalan tradition. We hosted a prayer team from Dothan, AL and worked in the Fray De Las Casas region. It was a very productive week! While out with them we encountered a group of K'ekchi' that had been burned out of their village by the land owner. They were living in make-shift housing and had very little to eat when we found them. We started a Disaster Relief Project for them from the Baptist Hunger & Relief Fund (thanks Southern Baptists for giving to this!). So far there has been one food delivery, a delivery of tin, and we have a final food delivery scheduled for later this month. Pray that the love of God would touch these people's hearts and that many in this area would come to know Him. We completed all but one of our required medical tests and got good reports from all of them! We are glad to be getting that behind us. It is the last thing we need to complete before meeting with the IMB.

We anticipate September to be a great month as well. We have a few Pastor's Conferences we plan to attend as well as some special church services. Please remember to pray for us this month and our many travels. Until next time.....

Sending our love,
David & Regina
